Playgroup

Our Playgroup sessions run from Monday to Friday during the school term, 8:45am to 10:45am for 2½ year olds with the possibility to extend their session to 2:45pm when they turn 3.  These extended sessions are limited and when demand is high we may have to limit those who book in advance.

Your child can attend upto 5 sessions weekly (again, subject to availablity).

From September 2025 the fee for our morning session is £13.20 (£37.20 for the extended session). 

Flying Start has been rolled out to all postcodes in the County of Conwy, apply to fs-childcare@conwy.gov.uk

We are also registered for Early Years Education Grant, to be eligibilty depends on the child's date of birth, we will prompt you to apply if eligible.

Playgroup Plus

Playgroup Plus is available to all children attending a part time nursery class. The sessions run to coincide with Nursery class times at Ysgol Deganwy, from 9:00am to 1:00pm or 11:00am to 2:45pm Monday to Friday during the school term.

Due to our location next to Ysgol Deganwy, the Playgroup staff are able to drop off or collect the children from Ysgol Deganwy's Nursery teacher at the start/end of the session as appropriate.

Children must be provided with a packed lunch from home e.g. a sandwich and piece of fresh/dried fruit and/or yoghurt. (No sweets, chocolates or crisps, in line with Ysgol Deganwy's healthy eating policy). We also ask that you don't include any nut based products as we have 2 aunties with nut allergies.  Deganwy Playgroup will provide a drink of water or milk to have with lunch.

Children can attend any number of sessions (subject to availability). This is an excellent opportunity for your child to practice having lunch away from home and attend a full day prior to commencing full time school.

The fee for each Playgroup Plus session is £25.60 from September 2025.

We are registered with the Welsh Government's Childcare Offer which if eligible can cover 20 hours of care with us (five 4 hour sessions).  Visit the Welsh Government's website for more information and to apply.
