About Deganwy Playgroup

Through our Playgroup and Playgroup Plus sessions, Deganwy Playgroup caters for children from the age of 2½ up to the age of 4 years.

The Playgroup takes children from their 2½ year birthday. The sessions run from Monday to Friday during the school term from 8:45am to 10:45am for 2½ year olds with the option to extend their session (subject to availability) to either 1pm or 2:45pm. Your child can attend any number of sessions weekly (again, subject to availablity). Each session costs £10.00, (£18 and £22 for the extended sessions), however for qualifying 3-year-olds from the start of the new term in January we receive funding from the Welsh Assembly Government for early education. The Playgroup is registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales for up to a maximum of 30 children per session.

The Playgroup is an English-speaking group, although a basic introduction to the Welsh language is provided during both the Playgroup and Playgroup Plus sessions.

Please note that although we work closely with Ysgol Deganwy, as an organisation we have no formal links to the school and operate entirely independently. We do not operate a "catchment area" as the school does, and those gaining a place with Deganwy Playgroup are in no way guaranteed a place at Ysgol Deganwy or given any preferential treatment to that effect.
